Tortillas

First try at making homemade tortillas.

2cupFlour
1/2tspSalt
3/4tspBaking Powder
3tbspVegetable oil
3/4cupWarm water

Combine flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.

Cut in the oil with your fingers until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.

Pour in the warm water and stir until a rough dough forms.

If it feels dry, add a tablespoon of water at a time.

Turn the dough onto a counter and knead for about 2 minutes until smooth.

Cover and let it rest for 20–30 minutes — this is what makes them soft and easy to roll.

Divide into 8 equal balls.

Roll each one into a thin circle (6–8 inches).

Heat a dry skillet over medium?high.

Cook each tortilla for about 30–45 seconds per side until it bubbles and gets light brown spots.

Stack them in a towel to keep them soft.
